Sensational Saturday featured birdhouse

Welcome back to another Fabulous Saturday with Sugar Creek Hollow!
This weeks challenge is to create a Vintage valentine. The design team all used the same Valentine birdhouse image. Instead of creating a card this week I created one of my wall hangings that can be given as a valentine that will last for longer than a day! As our Love for our Family and Friends is a year round love so why not give a gift the can be enjoyed as such!

My card inspired by the sketch is a simple Note card for my friend!

I chose to use K & Co Life stories design papers. My image is from the Crafty Secrets Cherub stamp set. To give his wings some shimmer I created a paint with some Magical Mica powder and water.
I accented with a prima branch that I sprayed with Ling Stamp Gang Moonshadow mist.

Sensational Saturday with Sugar Creek Hollow

Are you having a Good start to your weekend? It's about to get even better.
Today's challenge over at Sugar Creek Hollow is:
Black & White plus a splash of 1 other color.

I created a Get Well Easel card for a friend. The paper I used is from DCWV the Black Currant stack it worked perfect for this challenge.
Not too many embellishments were needed. A few Wild orchid craft roses and some white lace glimmer misted to match my pretty papers.
Both images are from the New Valentine digital stamps from Sugar Creek Hollow.
To frame my Get well image I cut a lacy square spellbinder cut and simple removed one of the sections and glued back together to create a lacy rectangle.
 Stop on Over at The Sugar Creek Hollow Blog and see all the wonderful design teams projects and Join in the fun.

This week I included into the sketch the CDAC Heart Class. It was a perfect match for the sketch. I used a Lovely Priscillastyles image ~~~ Which is this weeks bonus sponsor. If your the Lucky Gold Star you could choose this image and many other great digital stamps.
The image is called Flying birds. It comes in a set of 6 Digital images.

The Design paper is from Bo Bunny Crazy Love collection. Accents are Prima say in in pearls, Wild orchid craft roses, and Lace from my stash. The sentiment is a sticker from the echo park be mine collection. I colored my image my favorite way- Pencil and oil. I added a few postal letters for carrying by cutting out of the K & Co. Life's journey stamp collage paper. The base of my heart pocket was core'dinations chocolate box paper embossed with a flower sizzix plate and stamp with the Prima notary stamp.

Sensational Saturday

Welcome back for another Sensation Saturday with Sugar Creek Hollow!
This weeks Challenge was a FUN challenge. The challenge is to use Fabric on your card or project. This is my card I was inspired by this challenge.

I started with my base cardstock and sewed a mat in beige fabric. I'm not sure what type of material this is all I know Is it's left over material from when I created chair cushions for my dining room. I chose to keep the raw frayed edge on the material edge which added nice texture to the left of my card. The Dark brown photo mat is a faux leather I had on hand from various projects. I decided to use the Valentine vintage Post card image from the new valentine release from Sugar creek Hollow. This image has so much potential I love it. I accented with some white lace sprayed with Lindy's stamp gang starburst spray, Prima flowers and Tim Holtz rose trimmings. Some crinkle ribbon from Sugar Creek Hollow Shoppe was the perfect touch at the top to complete my card.

Love tree image.

Last Saturday was the Monthly on-line crop for Life on the {scrap}beach. One of the crop challenge Prizes was a Custom Wall hanging made by me. So This is what I came up with Yesterday.
My main image is the Heart Tree Digital stamp from Priscillastyles.
I also use another New release from Sugar Creek Hollow this birdhouse is so adorable and I simply layered to give a 3-d look.

In the photo below you can see all the dimension. I just love the Prima branches and so excited to see what they release this CHA show. The Wild Orchid Roses are my favorite so of course I had to load them on this project as well. The Blue Rose with Diamond dust is from Prima.

Here is my take on  this weeks Sketch :

I used the New Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime paper collection. This paper collection has such great Spring colors and designs. My main image is using a piece from the frame die-cut sheet. There are so many cute fairies and I seem to be on a Fairy phase as several of my previous cards and projects are just that. I loaded my card up with my new product by our Monthly Sponsor Lindy's stamp Gang. For the Martha Stewart stamped butterfly I used magical powders and my water pen to give it additional color and shimmer. I sprayed some white lace trim with a combination of Moon shadow mist in Treasure Island aqua and Starburst spray in Delphinium turquoise. The crinkle ribbon woven through is some I purchased from the Sugar Creek Hollow Shoppe. (I love this ribbon)  I edged all my papers with the Tibetan Poppy teal Starburst stain as you will see best in the photo below. All these products have great shimmer but it's so hard to photograph.

To give my fairy wings Extra Pizazz I colored with my paint brush using the Dalphinium turquoise starburst spray. Additional accenting with my white gel pen gives it even more character.

I was even able to use some of the Spray on my White Wild Orchid Craft flowers so they matched perfectly.

Thanks for stopping by Have a Happy Crafty Day and I look forward to you joining us at the
 Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge!

The First Sensational Saturday for 2011

WooHoo It's Saturday! I'm so excited to share the first 2011 card for Sugar Creek Hollow's Sensational Saturday.
This weeks challenge was a creative sketch

This week instead of a card I have a Wall Hanging. A few months ago I had created a wall hanging for myself using the Eastern Bluebird image from Sugar Creek Hollow. My Mother has been visiting for the last week and just loved this wall art hanging I had made. She wanted to steal mine so I told her I would make one of her very own so she didn't have to sneak any of my Home-Decor items into her bag when she left. I'm thinking she got the better end of the deal. I just Love how everything turned out.

Did you know? - - - The proceeds of sales from the Sugar Creek Hollow Shoppe go to provide food, clothing and shelter for those who are less fortunate.  If you don't have any images from the Shoppe yet, check it out and when you buy something to use on your creations you can say that you have helped out too.
Here's an angled view so you can see the dimension of the art piece.

My image is colored using  pencils and blended with baby oil.
Items I used on this project :
Sugar Creek Hollow Eastern Bluebird Digital Image
7 gypsies conservatory paper collection
Prima Vine Summer Carnation lemon
Tim Holtz Adage ticket
Simplicity trim natural cluny lace
fused white pearl beading trim.
American Craft cardstock

Everyone is invited to enter a card using this weeks sketch and you are not required to use an image from Sugar Creek Hollow but if you do you will get two entries into the random prize draw.  The winner of that draw will receive a digi of their choice from the Sugar Creek Hollow Shoppe and a badge to display on their blog.  Once we reach a minimum of 10 entries, the Design Team will select a Card of the Week and the creator of that card will receive a special badge to display on their blog.  Every month there will be a Guest Designer chosen from the Cards of the Week and that person will be invited to join the Design Team in a challenge.  There are lots of reasons to enter so we can't wait to see your fabulous creations.

This post is getting incredibly long. If your still with me one of my personal goals this year is to share some of the joys I have as a Mother and crafting while I raise my young children. My 3 year old daughter LOVES to craft with Mommy and many times creates right beside me. This is her project she created using the same image. I might be bias but She is a natural and will most definitely be better than me soon enough. Many times she gets my flops or oopsies but she loves it and I always try to help her Finish her project.
This is what she made for Grandma.

Memory Rose

My mother has been visiting for the last week and I'm so sad she has to head back home to Minnesota tomorrow. Just before she came out to visit one of her close friends mother passed away so I made a Sympathy card for her to give her friend when she gets back home.

Here is this weeks Sketch and My Design Team Creation:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I chose to flip the sketch 180*. The papers I chose are from DCWV and the image is called Lost in thought from Faerie song stamps. I colored my image with my pencils and blended with oil. I accented with roses and leaves from wild orchid craft and some lace/ribbon out of my stash. I did add clear glitter stickles to her wings but it's so hard to see in the picture.
A view of the inside. Again using DCWV papers and a Rub-on sentiment from little yellow bicycle.
