Smore Please

Todays project I created a layout about my 3 year old eating a Smore. These types of photos make me smile and remember great Family time. She is completely dirty with wind blown hair, chocolate and marshmallow everywhere. I created this layout following the The Pink Elephant Sketch challenge. It was a double challenge as you needed to use the colors aqua, black, & white as well.

A layout for my MIL

When I showed my Mother-in-law my Family layout for my wall she told me she wanted one Exactly the Same for herself. I still have yet to re-create that layout but I did create the same sketch with different papers and an image of the In-laws to hang next to the Family layout. I hope she like's it.

Acrylic Mini I made for my Friend Kim

Well the story behind this album is Kathryn from Life's a scrap beach was hosting a class on how to put together an acrylic mini. I initially knew I wouldn't be following along as I'm not a Big fan of these types of albums because I don't like the smudges and fingerprints they collect when viewed (or created). My Best Scrap buddy Kim said she wanted me to make her an acrylic mini. Well you know how that goes when a Besty asks it's hard to say NO. I did have 2 albums in my stash I had bought Long ago. I kinda~sorta agreed to make one but it had to be with G45 papers. Once the class started I watched but never actually started working on my project. Once the class finished My inspiration hit me like a bolt of lightning. I thought Kathryn created a Fabulous mini I love every artistic element but I wanted a different style and feel. Thus my first acrylic mini was created. You can see it HERE. I still needed to create Kim's mini so I sat down with my papers and just pondered what pages I liked and what shapes inspired me. This is the end result~~~~~

My most favorite element in the album is the Clever little Train I created.

I know this looks like nothing has changed but that was my intention If you looked close there is a hidden photo mat that is matched exactly to the page behind it in the photo above.

Bead inspired Card.

I can't believe it's Wednesday already. The week is just flying by as is summer. Today was a cloudy gloomy day so the girls had to play inside which means I had a little crafting time. I decided to create another card for the Huge Bluemoon contest. My card all started with me wanting to use a bead I received in a package from my friend Rita. I had the perfect paper to match ~ 7 gypsies Venice collection. I followed the Midnight madness Sketch but will not be able to enter in both challenges so I will only be entering in the Bluemoon contest. I did however want to give credit to Priscilla for such a great sketch.

A close up look at the bead that inspired me and the flower I created using it on my Hat pin.

Happy Tuesday!

Wow I guess I didn't realize how I've neglected my blog. Summertime is sooooo busy I guess by the time I remember I need to post a project I fall asleep because I'm wore-out from the day.  I have 2 projects to share with you today. One is my ATC for the beach swap hosted by the lovely Hope Simpson. Then a Birthday card for my SIL who's party was Sat and we had a Blast. We had so much fun I forgot my camera there so I haven't been able to take pictures of yesterday and todays projects. Maybe I'll remember to get it on Thursday errands.

Here's my July Theme ATC:

My Sister-in-laws birthday card : sorry for the pink overload but it's her favorite color and it seemed to work together so I went with it.

Welcome Little Buckaroo!

It's been a busy start to the week and I haven't had much time to craft. I did get a card created this afternoon following the Annabelle Stamps Sketch. I chose the Wanted paper collection from Cosmo Cricket. This is the Best Western paper out there and I just love it! The Pink Elephants challenge this week was to use the color Brown so it fit perfect.
I choose the Rocking Horse image from Squigglefly Digital images and created the sentiment with my computer.

I giggle when I look at my photo because I was in a hurry as the baby woke up from her nap and The glossy accents on my rocking horse wasn't dry yet. I'm fairly proud of this card because ~ Boy cards are very hard for me creatively but I'm pleased with the results and had fun!

A project to help a fellow crafter!

I created these cards for an auction to raise money for a fellow crafter who has fallen upon hard times with losing her husband! There are 5 vertical and 5 Horizontal cards in the set. I will be sending to Jade Moore who will auction of sets of cards to raise money. I also created a card as a Host gift for Jade for doing this thoughtful gesture. I have already sent a private PayPal donation to help but I feel if I ever was in the same position as Claudia I would appreciate every little bit!

I will also be entering this card for the Wild Orchid crafts new Challenge Blog as I used the tiny Roses as the centers of my Prima's and some of the tiny rose buds on the bottom.

2nd post for today

Ok I know I said I didn't have a project to share but I do! While cleaning up my workspace I realized I never posted my card I made for 2 challenges. It is my first Christmas Card for the Year. A lot of challenge blogs are featuring Christmas in July so I had to do at least 1 Christmas card this month. I used the sketch from Priscilla's Midnight Madness #62 and the Digi from Squigglefly

Let's get fancy!

Today when I sat down to craft I felt like making a Fancy page. As I pulled papers and ideas together I soon found myself creating a Layout I will frame and Hang on my wall. I think these are my favorite to create as they are not tucked in an album only looked at a few times when company comes by but Everyday.
Since the layout will be in a frame I had the freedom to give it Lots of Dimension.

A few Simple Layouts!

This past Saturday was the monthly crop for Life on the scrap beach hosted by Kathryn. I didn't have so much crafting time as normal as I was at my Besty Kim's house for the crop and had to drive home the next. So with Monday evening as the deadline I was a crafting Fool Monday afternoon. I didn't complete all the challenges but had fun with the ones I did. I kept the layouts simple but I really like how they turned out.

"I love 7gypsies"

As hard as it is to believe I think my new favorite paper manufacture is 7gypsies. For the last 4 months that is what I grab for first when making a project. Don't get me wrong I still love Cosmo Cricket but as my crafting style has changed to more of a vintage style I can't go wrong with 7gypsies! Super Excited for the New CHA releases!

My 4 little Wishes come True!

This is the acrylic album I created While Kathryn hosted her Thursday Acrylic Ustream Class for Life on the Scrapbeach. I had lots of fun with this even though I'm not a fan of these types of albums! ( I still dislike them but only because they finger print so easy.) I chose to use Nature's story paper collection from Webster pages. My album is made with the intent of a shadowbox appeal when displayed on a bookshelf or coffee table. I didn't worry to much about the back sides of the pages as I just used it for Journaling my Children's full names and age at time of photo. I will enter this album into the Big Bluemoon Contest for best mini book. Wish me luck.

The look at the layered pages:
