Table 3 Steampunk Soiree 2014

It's been 3 weeks since I attended the Steampunk Soiree Adventure in Virginia hosted by Epic Paper Arts. I had so much fun meeting so many of my On-line friends.
I loved all the fabulous projects and events we participated in. For the costume party they had a photo booth where we all got to take some fun photos. One of my favorite photos from the event is the photo of the 4 ladies and myself that sat at Table 3 for the event. We had so many laughs!
I created this layout to sit next to my 3 Soiree projects!

At the Soiree we received custom chipboard pieces for our projects by Blue Fern Studios. We also received 2 extra pieces for our own projects and I used 1 of them on this layout.

I cut apart the chipboard and embossed the gears with Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powders. I also added some paper die-cut gears from la la land crafts and stamping.

Another close-up

Since I used the custom chipboard pieces for this layout I thought it would be fun to follow the August sketch challenge for Blue Fern Studios.

Time for me to get Real!

This blog post is gonna be out of my normal style as I'm actually taking a step back with my normal approach and getting REAL!
I have been blogging for a long time and I normally post things for a challenge or a design team project.
I want to share an art piece I have started just for me. A Learning experience.
I have never had confidence in my drawing skills
and I wanted to challenge/prove to myself I could do it! As a beginner
I did a search on Pinterest (yes our worst enemy of exploding ideas) for "How to draw a face."
the search was amazing. I found myself engulfed in several blogs / you-tube tutorials you name it!
I grabbed my Faber Castell Graphite pencils and my Dyan Reaveley Dylusion art journal and gave it a go.
Here is a photo of my base face features!

I'm sorry for the terrible photo quality as I was in the zone and just snapped a pic with my phone!
Ok I had my base what next???  I guess wing it and hope for the best.
I walked away and completed some home chores and decided I needed to add a frame and hair.
I didn't have the ambition to research on how to artistically draw this feature so I just winged it and created my own facial frame and hair. Once I started drawing I questioned my judgement but just kept working and continued to adjust and add layers of pencil till I had a semi frame/hair I liked.

I continued by sketching the base/outline for my art journaling but family needed food so this is as far As I completed for the days craft session! Please stay tuned as I complete this page and explore the NEW!

Lindy's December Challenge art piece

One of the fun things about art is the Freedom to create without limits.
I created this Art journal page following the Lindy's Stamp Gang December Color challenge!

I created my background Using some of my  Older Lindy's product's. I used 3 dabbers in the colors, Tibetan Poppy Teal, Azure Sea Asters, and retired Heliotrope Purple. I was able to create new colors by simply mixing the colors and water together while still wet and adding Gesso over the top once dried. I added creative Zentangle design's to frame my quote and highlight the edges and inner areas. I stamped and colored a La La Land craft image Arist Marci as it fit perfect with my quote.

Snow Fall Winter layout

I had so much fun creating this layout of my girls! The photo is the girls playing outside in the only Snowfall we had last Winter.

I used the Bo Bunny Snowfall collection and accented with Prima flowers and a Blue Fern Chipboard piece.
I added some detail to my background paper with a few stencils, stamping and Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays.

Mixed Media Halloween Canvas

Halloween is one of my Favorite holidays!

I created this canvas for my very good friend in a swap! I followed the Lindy's Stamp Gang October Color challenge.

I used a TON of Lindy's products. I had the most fun creating my spooky tree.

I drew my tree on the back side of white wood-grain paper and carefully using my craft knife and detail scissors cut it out. I sprayed with Sandra Dee Sepia, Lucky shamrock green and Sea mint green.

The moon was also a lot of Fun to make!

I sprayed my moon with some Magical Mai Tai, Cocklebells Coral and Glory of the seas gold.
I added some texture with a stencil and embossed with King Midas gold, Caesars gold and bronze moon glow by sprinkling a little of each powder in random areas.

Mixed Media Canvas

I have another canvas to share! This one I created for a friend.

The photo in the center is just a template for her to trace for her actual photo. (I just used a generic black and white photo)
I followed a few challenges for this canvas to give myself a platform to jump off.
The Sketch I chose was from Blue Fern Studios September Challenge:

 I rotated the sketch 90*
I used the Sweetheart Dressform and actually used a few of the small bits that were left inside the chippie to create my hearts around the doilie.

I also followed Limor Webber's Mixed Media Facebook group September challenge:
I used the New Lindy's Stamp gang collection Industrial Chic designed by Limor Webber

Heaven sent layout!

Wow I really need to post more projects to my blog! With so many social sites available I seem to post to my blog the least!

I created this layout for my Cousin who has just had her first child! She had some amazing newborn pictures taken and I couldn't resist creating a wall art layout for her!  I followed the Blue Fern Studios July sketch challenge for this layout. I'm so in love with their chippies I seem to use them on all my layouts!

I didn't have a baby collection so I combined several different papers from Webster's Pages that I had in my stash. I even included the thin chipboard packaging from the Blue Fern Studios chippie. I accented with Petaloo, Wild Orchid Craft flowers and a Prima vine. The blue netting is also from Webster's Pages.

You are my Sunshine!

One of my Favorite photos of my youngest! She was riding her brother's skateboard!

I followed the Blue Fern Studios May challenge Sketch for this layout!

I'm so in love with these chipboard pieces. They have fabulous designs and they hold up to all my abuse if I want to spray or gesso.

I use one of the butterflies and cut one of the corner pieces in half and placed in 2 separate areas. I Used the Bo Bunny Prairie Chic papers! I want to make another layout soon with this paper it's so Gorgeous!
I accented with several flowers including Prima, Petaloo, and Wild orchid crafts.
I also had the chance to use my Cottage Cuts garden fence and gate die. I have so many ideas for this die.

This project was so fun to create! I want to make another one soon!
I used the outside rings from a 8" and 6" embroidery hoop to get a nice circular base and simple hot glued the crayons. The squares are created with Spellbinders nesting squares and the letters were recollection stickers. I added several 3-D school themed stickers and  ribbon  looped around the largest hoop and finished with a bow.

Natural Beauty

This is a layout I created for the Flying Unicorn Forum Rockin Round Challenge.
I used a Ladies Diary from G45. The dress form I created from the want 2 scrap dressform base chipboard piece. I used several of my new Spellbinder dies. I'm in love with the Medallions they are so elegant and add great accents.
