I was Born to do this.....

Wow it's been a little bit since I posted a project. Hope everyone is having a Happy and Safe Monday! My thoughts and prayers are with all those in the path of mother nature's wrath of Hurricane Sandy.
Today I want to share a layout I made the other night.
OK I know I was a teenager once and I'm sure I did strange things that my mother didn't understand. Well now I'm the mother of a 16 year old who does many things I don't understand. One... taking random pictures of herself for the social network (facebook). She posted this photo earlier last week and I thought it was kinda inspiring so I created a layout for her.
I tried sticking with a monochromatic color scheme since she took the photo in black and white.

I'm a little Monster!

One of my Favorite things to do is paper piece.
I will be attending my friends grandson's 1st birthday this weekend and needed a "CUTE" card.
The inspiration for this little guy came from a picture I seen of an SVG cut on-line. I don't have the necessarily software to cut SVG files so I improvised. I used my spellbinders oval and circle dies to create this little dinosaur/monster.
I'm still on a mission to use up some of my 6x6 paper pads so I just fumbled through my drawer and found Cosmo Cricket -Joy Ride. Not really meant for a birthday paper but I liked the colors and thought it worked perfect for a little boy birhtday card.
The "i'm a little monster" is a stamp from recollections. (item # 171828)
I simply printed the Happy Birthday sentiment on coordinating cardstock since I didn't have a stamp large enough.
This card was SOOOOO much fun to make! I hope this card inspires you to think outside the box. Even though you may not have the described supplies for a project does not mean you can't create it.

Scardy Cat starburst card

I love this starburst pattern and 6x6 paper challenge from The scrap beach. I once again reached into my stash and found a full pad of Hocus Pocus from Pink Paislee. Halloween is fast approaching so I was inspired to make a card fitting the upcoming Holiday. I recently purchased the G45  Happy Haunting stamp set from hampton art and found it to be perfect for this design. The fuzzy spider and webs are dimensional stickers by EK success Jolee's boutique.

I have lots more crafting projects in the works and excited to finish them so I can share with you!
Scrapadabadoo.com has graciously asked me to help out with creating some inspiring projects for there blog and I'm Honored and tickled pink! So stayed tuned for LOTS of great projects and step-by-step tutorials!

My sweet Girls Layout!

I'm back today to share another layout I created. The inspiration for this project came from a layout and challenge from my friend Kathryn blog Life on the {Scrap}beach. The challenge had 2 parts that I tried to achieve. The first was to create a Star-burst pattern. You can watch how Kathryn creates this design by watching her Youtube video! The second was to use up some of the 6x6 paper pads in my craft stash. I have about 50 so I could use more ideas like this to utilize my supplies.

I chose to use Earth Love by Cosmo Cricket. I have 3 of these 6x6 mini decks. It's one of my favorite paper collections released by Cosmo Cricket. I guess maybe that's why I felt the need to buy 3 pads.
I printed my photos with a Tint as I didn't want the straight black and white. The largest photo of my Oldest daughter has a sepia and blue tint added. The smaller circle photo with my two youngest just has the blue tint. (after I completed the layout I wish I would have added a little sepia tint to that photo as well to balance the photos out)

I accented my layout with several flowers from Petaloo and Prima. Scrapadabadoo has several of these style flowers that I love to use. I tucked in a few 7 gypsies velvet leaves as well. (these leaves are really hard to find these days as they are discontinued so I save for Special projects) The chipboard piece is the small vine flourish from dustyattic that I simple stamped with my Prima notary stamp then accented with a little white paint. I used fabric letter stickers from thickers and inked with Walnut stain Distress ink. A small bow tied from May arts ribbon finished it off nicely.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my project and I hope it inspires you to go try out the challenge over on Kathryn's blog! Oh yeah you could win a G45 stamp set donated by Scrapadabadoo ---- or a perfect trim ruler donated by the creator herself Barb.

I've moved from the Prairie to the South!

Boo! are you shocked to see a post from my blog again!

I know it's been an extremely long time since I have posted on my blog! Now that I have settled into the new house a little I hope to start posting more of my work like I use to! Just a quick post today to show you a layout I created for a friend. I have several more projects I'm working on and want to get back to work so I can share those as well.

This layout uses the large die cut from the Webster's Pages Ladies and Gents collection. I simply tacked the center onto a 12x12 coordinating colored cardstock and sewed the die-cut to the paper. I accented around the photo with some Prima pearls, flowers and several Petaloo butterflies. The top chipboard uses the hanging sign die from Tim Holtz. I stamped and inked the chipboard then layered a Pink Paislee ephemera piece on top. A Webster's push pin cameo in the center with more Prima flowers and pearls finish off the look I wanted.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to post more inspiration and creations later this weekend.
Have a Happy Scrappy Day!
