Be Mine!

Hello Happy Bloggers are you up for some Midnight Madness! I know Valentine's Day was yesterday but I never got a chance to share the valentine that I made for my husband. Living here in Wyoming one thing that is very common is the Coal Mining. Either you, your Spouse, or even any of your friends work in or sub-contract for the industry. My previous employment was a contractor for the mines. (thank goodness I upgraded to a SHAM.) My husband still works with-in the industry so what would be more fitting than this cute coal miner image from Bonibleaux designs.

Here is My Team Creation:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Background paper is My Minds Eye Academy papers. I paper pieced the miners outfit and coal cart with more designs from that collection. I added some inking and walnut satin distress stickles to dirty up my image. Bisque liquid pearls and gold stickles to accent his hard hat. I wanted to keep the card masculine but I still had to border my hand-drawn heart with white pleated ribbon. I also added some lace to ground things and sprayed it with snow-queen glimmer mist. The only flower I used was a single rose which replaces the original images lunch box. That's the best thing about digital images. They are so customizable.
This card is so cute! Did you plan the Be MINE sentiment to play on the fact that he's a Miner? Love how he's holding the flower and his glittery head lamp.
I LOVE your creative vision, Dawn! I can tell that so much love and thought went in to this card! The paper piecing, the rose in the fella's hand, the ribbon treatment around the heart, and the beautiful embellishments. It all comes together so well, and I'm just in awe! So very well done!
Hugs,
Lorie
Cole Miner looks great! I love how you've got him holding a flower instead of his lunch box.
I had no idea that mining was so big in Wyoming, thanks for that info....I always like to learn new things! You've done such a great job with the image and softened it beautifully with the lace and pearls! Just wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
