Squigglefly DT card

It's Monday which means a new blog challenge at Squigglefly. This weeks Squigglefly challenge was a Sketch from the lovely Kim. I normally struggle with Circle Sketches but This card seemed to come together fairly easy for me. I choose one of the Shy bear images. This image is called Butterfly Catchers. It reminds me of doing the same thing as a kid.
My take on the Sketch:

If you would like to take part in Squigglefly challenges and possibly win a free image Just make your card and link your post to Mr. Linky! Good Luck and Have a Great Crafty Week!

This card also fits these Challenges:
Belli Challenge 85 - Butterflies and Dragonflies
Flutter By Wednesday's 97 -Butterfly, fairy, or angel

Some Bunny Loves You!

I saw this Squigglefly image Simple Gift by artist Cheryl Alger and knew I had to make a card with it. This week for SFC36 you needed to use an animal on your creation. I chose to follow the sketch from MMSC41. I followed the fancy sketch for this card. I just rotated it.

Some other challenges I used for the card.
YNSC - spring colors
A Spoon full of Sugar - Spring time
Simon Says Challenge - recipe of 3 types of embellishment, 2 patterned paper, 1 image

Thanks for stopping by to check out my creation and have a Happy Crafty Day.

Cute and Simple Birthday Card

Today I have a very cute and simple card to share. I made a card last week for my Father-in -laws birthday but my hubby thought it looked like a Child's card. This is what I created instead. Clean and Simple. I used my cricut to cut the guitar from the Everyday Paper Dolls Cartridge. I layered onto cream cardstock to cut my own shadow then inked the edges using the color tea die Distress ink. I printed the sentiment from my computer. I used my sewing machine to stitch the guitar stings and then edged the card with more stitching to finish.

Challenges:
Cupcake Craft Challenges - keep it simple
Crafty Creations - stitching

Thanks for stopping by to look at my creation and have a happy crafty day!

My First TWS Mini album Swap.

This was the first TWS mini album swap I participated in. I enjoyed making a mini for another crafter and was excited to get one in return. The monthly swaps are hosted by Kathryn with Life on the {scrap}beach. The mini I created was a Desk-top Calendar mini with a page for each month. Each page contained several tags so my swap partner could add a Photo from that month and journal about the event. It will be a 2010 memory calender once the year has finished. ( I completed this album beginning of Jan. I needed to wait till my swap partner received it before I posted pics. I just now realized I forgot to post about it.)

My DH valentine

I liked priscilla's MMSC40 so much I had to use it again this time following the fancy sketch. I created this card for my husband for valentines day. I used the traditional red, black and white colors. The image is Shy-bear-Candy-bear from Squigglefly.com
When you open the card it has a pocket on the inside which holds my love letter written on a piece of printed ledger paper.
Thanks for stopping by to take a look!

A Birthday Card for the Father-in-law

My father-in laws birthday is Tomorrow so this is the card I created for him. I created this card following the simple sketch from MMSC40. I used the Cosmo Cricket Snorkel paper collection, and the High Hopes Stamp - Warm Wishes. I normally write a novel for my posts but time is short today. Thanks for looking!
UPDATE:
OK fellow crafters! I showed my hubby this card and he thinks it's too childish looking. SOOOOOOO I'm working overtime to create a new card that is more Adult appropriate. This still is a Super Fabulous Birthday card regardless what a mans opinion is. (but He is a lot like his father so I will accommodate this one time LOL.)

Wowza!

While scrolling threw my Google Blog reader I seen this Amazing Blog candy! Fern with Fern's creations is offering a Ben Franklin for Blog Candy! What an amazing Candy! Check out her Blog for more Details. Just think of all the crafty goodies you could get with this! She has tons of super Cute projects to check out as well so don't forget to let her know how great her talent is.

Hello Monday!

I Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! Congrats to the Saints for winning The NFL Superbowl! Mondays are always a warm welcome in my house as the hubby goes off to work and the two older kids head off to school. I have a quieter house with just the two little girls and myself. Mondays also mean a new weekly challenge at Squigglefly. This weeks challenge was to create a shaped Valentines card using non traditional colors. When I seen the challenge I knew exactly what image I wanted to use. This image is bedtime bear drawn by Susan Spiller. You can find this image and so many more at Squigglefly.com

Story behind image choice: Before my son heads off to school he Shouts very loudly  "Bye Mom Love you!" So when I seen the bedtime bear image Instead of looking at it as a bear yawning I seen a Bear shouting. All I had to do was add googly eyes to make him appear awake instead of sleepy.  It worked perfect for my Valentine to him. I printed my image Extra Large as I wanted that to be the majority of my card. I colored using my blending tool and Tim Holtz Distress inks. I printed the reverse image onto my patterned papers of choice and cut them out for his T-Shirt. The non traditional colors worked perfect for a boy.
Stop on over at the Squigglefly Challenge blog to see the other lovely DT cards.

2 more Life on the {scrap}beach crop challenges:
Challenge #4: The fourth challenge is to create a layout or project either about or for the love of your life. It could be a layout about your Starbucks addiction, or a card for a loved one to let them know how much they mean to you. This is the cover of my TWS Trade mini. The mini will be about all the Loves in her life. I just love the DCWV Mariposa Paper collection the papers are just gorgeous.

Challenge#5
The fifth challenge is to make a layout or project with play in mind. You could either make a layout about playtime, or you could just play with new techniques on a project. I tried playing with a new technique. Emboss resist stamping. It turned out to be more of a challenge to play with the tag to make it look good as my emboss resist technique didn't turn out.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my projects. Sorry for such a long post.

Life on the {scrap}beach Crop Challenges 1-3

Last night was the monthly Crop for Life on the {scrap}beach. I was able to complete the first 3 challenges during the Crop. I will be working on the remaining 3 today and tomorrow. The first challenge is to make a layout about a father ~ either your father, the father of your children or a father figure. I used this opportunity to finish a page for my girlfriends Baby mini album.
The second challenge was to make a layout about honesty. This could include a layout about being true to yourself, or a story about a time when honesty wasn't the best policy or any other variation on theme of honesty. I choose to do a variation.

The third challenge is to make a layout, card or other project using the shadow stamping technique. I made a Thank You card for my Girlfriend.

The shadow stamping close-up:

I'm off the finish the last 3 challenges while everyone else enjoys the SuperBowl!
Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!
