a Post for my neglected Blog!

Let me just start by apologizing for my neglect to my blog! I've been hard at work with many projects but some are for friends that read my far and few blog posts So I have to wait. I did sit down and make a card this morning for the MMSC55. I think it kinda took the look of my mood. I've been in a Blah mood the past couple days with all the rain. I choose the detail sketch but yet I kept it simple. The image I chose was the Retro tulips from Squigglefly When I cut out my image and placed on my card to choose the colors I wanted to paint it I liked the black/white contrast so I left it mostly. I painted the stems and leaves with a subtle blue/grey spring rain glimmer mist and the tulip flower I painted with marshmallow glimmer mist. I about tossed them in the trash when my ink bled while painting but In turn I liked the distress feel it gave the flower. Luck was on my side and it gave it a shaded washed look. Like always pictures don't do justice but I liked the outcome so that's what counts. It felt great to sit down and create a Stress Release project.

Thanks for stopping by and Have a Happy Scrappy Day!

Pretty card Dawn! I know what you mean about being in a blah mood. Mine is mostly cause of my back pain...but I've been trying to create! I just recently got into digi stamps so I'm excited about that! :D

'Your neglected Blog' I laughed when I read this, because mine is a bit the same way.
I've missed blogging. It's good to be back on the computer, after 6 weeks in hospital I was having withdrawals.
I've been reading through your last few posts trying to catch up, you've been doing some good work.

Sending you a hug

This is really a dramatic presentation. I love how you have used the boldness of the blakc and hwite flower and mingled that with softer elements like the ribbons and vintage papers. Well done. Thanks for joining us this week. Tracy, MMDT

Dawn I love how you distressed the part of the sketch where the lacing was to be. You card has taken on a vintage finesse with your focal point and papers. Really fabulous. Thanks for playing along with us this week at the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.
