Twooooofer craft project day!

Warning long post lots of babbling LOL!
Wow yesterday was crazy for me. I was able to sit down at the craft desk yesterday morning and create a beautiful card before I had a full day of errands. I can't wait till school starts so things can slow down a bit, but on the other hand I'm still getting the kids ready so more time would be nice too. Oh the fun! I only have the daughter's high-school supplies left to buy. I don't understand why they wait till the week before school starts to send out the class schedules and supply list. Grade school is so easy peasy with the supply lists right there at Walmart for K-6. Anyhooo enough rambling. The card I made was following the MMSC67 sketch. It was such a fun sketch I couldn't resist. The weeks challenge sponsor was Sugar Creek Hollow who has fabulous vintage shabby digi's my favorite. I selected the SCH barn swallow for my image and used 7 gypsies paper. A few wild orchid roses and some odds and ends embellies from my stash. I love that this card can be used for many occasions so I decided not to add a sentiment just yet till I know where it's home will be.

I loved how the swallow was perched on a branch so I drew off that inspiration and continued with a cricut cut from the Home Decor cart. covering both in glossy accent to blend. I colored my image using T!m Holtz distress inks.

My second project for the day (well it was night lol) was created while watching a Ustream show hosted by Marion Smith for Prima. She made an adorable Halloween fold-up layout box. That's what I call it not sure what she called it. I made mine with a Christmas theme and will use it to house a custom ornament for the year and give as a gift. It's such a clever little idea and can be made with only 2 pieces of 12x12 cardstock. (heavier the better) I used the Retro grunge paper stack. I think I might just grab this stack for a lot of my Christmas projects~ love the grungy reds and greens. I did change up the design of the cover just a tad as I wanted both sides of the paper to show. I did not get a chance to decorate the bottom half as it was getting late and my 1 year old has yet to learn how to sleep-in! ;)
If your still with me here Thanks this post is getting long winded.

On the Prima show Marion Atg'd the triangle pieces down where I flipped mine back up on themselves.

Thanks so much for stopping by Have a Happy Crafty Day.
