Twinkle Twinkle little Star!

Todays card share is a really fun card that could be used for many occasions. I received this image in an image swap and just loved it. It's called Luna Star from Faerie Song Stamps. I think I might have to get me some of these because they are just darling whimsical images.
I colored the image using my colored pencils,  and nibs dipped in baby oil.
The teal base paper is G45 Once upon a springtime. The multi-color strip paper is DCWV Nana's Nursery. I pulled out some of my translucent mulberry paper for a subtle triangle as per the sketch. The sentiment is a sticker from the stash as well as the tiny stars. I put lots of stickles to give the card that extra twinkle but it's hard to see in the photo.

This card follows these Challenges:

My quick solution for organizing my spellbinders

If you are not aware I have a very small area for which I'm to store my growing craft supplies. I previously stored my spellbinders loosely on my shelf. But I now keep them in this little book I made so I'm never worried if I'm missing one or going to lose one. I learned how to create this book from Yoliebean during the YYP Home for the Holidays Crop. Recording Here!
This is only a temporary fix till I built on this summer and have a True Craft Cave.

The black backing is the cheap magnetic printer sheets found at Walmart business section.
I just cut to size and ATG'd to the packaging.

In the below picture you can see I still have room to expand my collection.

This is just one of the many projects I have completed this past month and never found the time to blog about it. It seems I'm always on the computer but never seem to get anything done. Does anyone else feel that way. Now I have to tackle the ever growing Blog reader posts. That's another thing I seem to have hard keeping up with this busy time of year.

It's Turtle Time!

Every year we have a tradition in our family to make Homemade turtles using my husbands grandmother's recipe. This year we decided to give a few away to our close friends. Well in that decision I felt I had to make a homemade box to hold them. So I sat down at my craft table and started to create a custom box. I'm sure it would have been easy to search on-line and find a template but they are so easy once you understand the base principals. This is what I came up with. . . . .

The two pieces seperate.......

Yummy turtles inside.......

Joy to the World

This will be the final Sugar Creek Hollow Sensational Saturday for 2010. Wow the year has just flown by. I chose to use the Joy to the World digital. I colored with several glimmer mists and accented with Wild orchid flowers. The lace and pearls are from my stash. The Background DP is MME Home and a map piece out of my stash.

Special Sensational Saturday!

Hello and Welcome to my Card share for Sensational Saturday with Sugar Creek Hollow! Today's a Special Sensational Saturday as It's my Birthday! The challenge for this week was a Color Challenge. With my 2 favorite colors none the less! RED and White!

For my Card I chose to use the Primitive Sheep digital image layered on red cardstock. I accented with some glittered polka-dot paper. The heart is colored with my SU marker and Red glitter stickles to match the paper. Top corner roses are Wild Orchid Craft and the Martha Stewart branch punch. Bottom accent is some spellbinder snowflakes colored in Tim Holtz barn door and fired brick distress ink then clear embossed. They are simply held together with a felt covered brad. I stitched some crochet lace into a flower and added a decorative beaded pin. I layered on top of some wild orchid leaves colored with Santa Baby and Red Velvet Glimmer mist. The Sentiment was stamped onto some grosgrain ribbon layered over white lace. Super Easy to make but Super Fabulous outcome!

Just some Fun Cards!

Happy Thursday! Getting time to craft this week has been tough. I didn't make anything Super spectacular but I did sit down on Tues. Night and create two really quick and easy cards. I'm just now getting a chance to put the post up. For my images I used some of the Heartwarming vintage cuts from Crafty secrets. The only hard part was trying to pick which image I wanted to use. They are all so great! Now that the Christmas Traditions Kits have shipped I hope I can get back to more FUN stuff. I seen a great mini designed around cards I want to give a try. Maybe Today would be a good day to start.

Sensational Saturday with Sugar Creek Hollow

Welcome back to another Sugar Creek Hollow Sensational Saturday. This week the challenge was a Sketch! I just adore sketches because when things get busy like this week has been it's the perfect starting point. I chose to use the baby Jesus image this week once again. When you have an image this beautiful it's hard not to use it time and time again. The pictures I took really do not do this card justice.

For the front of the card I chose to print the Scruffy Manger Digi on MME Life Stories paper and cut the center out as my looking-glass for the image inside. I paper pieced some pattern papers for the manger base to give it more depth. The corner accents were some very old K&Co die-cuts I had in my stash. I loaded this card up with some Wild Orchid Craft pearls to accent the ribbon threaded lace. The Adore oval was a leather sticker I had in my stash. After looking at the picture I should have inked the edges with a black ink to tie it in better with the card.
Inside of card: I still want to add more to it just not sure what yet! I ran out of time for crafting for the day and wanted to post my card.
Hope you enjoyed looking at my card. Please stop by the Sugar Creek Hollow Blog and check out the other DT cards for this weeks challenge there is such amazing talent to be seen.

MMSC81

I may not have running water but I still have my craft corner to cheer me up. It's been a long day of traveling back and forth to the neighbors to get water and wash clothes. I'm still trying to finish up all the Christmas cards I will need for this year. The Midnight madness sketch was a perfect place to start. I chose to create my card more toward the simple side. I used one of my favorite squigglefly shy-bear images and G45 Christmas past papers. I even broke out the sewing machine for some stitched edges. Just enough Fun to scratch my craft itch. The photo is not doing the card justice as you can't see the diamond sparkle on her wings and the Gold stickled Halo.

Clever little Candy Box.

Welcome back to another Sensational Saturday with Sugar Creek Hollow. This weeks challenge is to create a card using the technique HERE for faux barn board. I normally stick fairly close to the challenges but this week I couldn't. I didn't have the acrylic paint or brown re-inker to complete the technique So with the Thanksgiving Holiday on Thursday I wanted to complete my project while I had the free time early in the week. I created a Box that could be used as a Candy Dish holder. I found the idea from HERE. I created my box out of a full 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of cardstock, I just adjusted the measurements. So instead of using the technique to create faux barn board I created a box that looks like a barn. =)
I chose to use the amazingly beautiful baby Jesus image once again this week.

My Family and I are still without water. We believe the pump has failed. We will need to replace this next week. We are lucky to have friends and neighbors that allow us to shower and re-fill our water jugs. The amount of laundry I will have to catch up on when we finally get water back is beyond frightful.

What are you Thankful for?

I'm Thankful for my Family and Friends!
I'm Thankful for having healthy children!
I'm Thankful I can laugh at life's monkey wrenches rather than Cry!

I'm thankful for Modern Day conveniences. ~~~~ Why such an Odd thing to be thankful for. Well it's not that Odd if you take into consideration of how my week is going. The past 2 days my family and I have had to survive without running water. (Still without as I type this post.)  The temperatures here in Wyoming have dropped below Zero the past few nights and barely above during the day. We live in the country and have a private well. We are just hoping the well house pipes are froze because replacing the pump is a nightmare and expensive. I would rather not live that possibility. So Yes I'm Thankful for modern Day conveniences such as running water. As humiliating as it is ~~~ it takes A LOT of melted snow to flush a toilet. Good thing we have a foot outside.

Finally I'm Thankful for all my internet communities to share my passions and daily happenings!

Wishing Everyone a Happy Thanksgiving Holiday to those that celebrate and a Happy Crafty Day to all that took the time to read this!

Beautiful Baby Jesus Image

Welcome Back for another card share with Sugar Creek Hollow Sensational Saturdays. Today my card is using the New Incredibly Beautiful Baby Jesus Image. When I first saw this image my jaw hit the floor, the detail is amazing.
(click the image to enlarge)

I printed my image on watercolor paper- coloring the straw background with antique linen and scattered straw distress inks. I used colored pencil to add slight shading to the baby and blanket. I then rubbed the penciled areas to soften the lines and give more of a chalk look. I chose to use some basic grey capella and text pattern papers. I initially sprayed a doily with suede Glimmer mist and realized it was to dark for the result I was hoping for. I opted for the white doily distressed with vintage photo on the edges and some border punched cardstock. The scroll I simple cut out and edged with vintage photo ink. I added some branches to give the appearance of the image laying in a manger. (After I photographed the card I removed the branch awkwardly hanging down to the left of the scroll. It's fun looking at your pics and seeing the card in a different perspective.) After adding a  few of my favorite Wild Orchid Roses and skeleton leaves I felt it needed something else. I tried several options but settled on some prima pearls and faux dots. I intend to use this image several times this Season for family Holiday cards.

So hurry on over to the Sugar Creek Hollow shoppe and get this image because it will be a show stopper for your Family Holiday Cards.

kindness

This week the challenge for Squigglefly was to create a card simply using a digital sentiment. I've been trying to use up some of my 6x6 papers from swaps so I'm not sure what company it is but I liked it. I added some plain white Prima blooms and Wild Orchid Roses to accent. That's about all this sentiment needed as it Stands alone perfect.

Season's Greeting's

Hope your having a Fabulous Wednesday. Todays card share is another Christmas card.

It all started with the hanging sign die from Tim Holtz. I wanted to make it look like an old lamp post. I snipped here and there then glued the edges where it looked good. I colored with chalk ink and then added crackle accents.  If you squint one eye tilt your head to the left it kinda looks like a lamp post. LOL!  The image is from Sugar Creek Hollow and some Country crinkle ribbon was a great compliment to lace out of my stash.
This card follows the MMSC#80.

A 5 minute mint box.

My lovely Sister in law asked me if I could decorate the place cards and mint boxes for the Family Thanksgiving dinner. I happily agreed. It's a Win Win for me as She likes to do the cooking while I can do the small detail things and still feel as I'm helping. This little box will house an after dinner Chocolate and mints. I kept it fairly simple. I'm not sure if I want to just add tiny tags to this and use as the place card as well or make separate pieces. I'll see how the week progresses. I'm starting to feel better and more in a crafty mood.

Sensational Saturday card share

Hello my dear craft friends. It's another Sensational Saturday with Sugar Creek Hollow. Today's challenge was a true challenge for me. I love it when that happens but wow this week I really had to pull all my fibers and gather all my glues to pull this one together. This weeks challenge was a color challenge using light blue, kraft, chocolate, and light pink.

The card I was inspired to create:

My first hurdle was selecting a design paper. I settled on Basic Grey's eskimo kisses and cappella papers as my background paper. I felt the page with the cute houses was a great compliment to the Sugar Creek Hollow Digital Sentiment . My second hurdle was to add a few accents and I chose a few white Wild Orchid Craft roses, leaves and Prima white petals which I glimmer misted. I created a stick pin with the pink, chocolate and blue beads added some Prima pearl bling and I felt the card was complete.

Now, Here are some ideas from the rest of the team using these four colors. You can also enter your card in our challenge. If you don't own any of the SCH images there are freebies available at the SCH shop. I hope you enjoy viewing the inspiration the team has made for you. I look forward to seeing your creations.

Is it just me????

Ok I hope it's not just me but the last 2 weeks have been really tough on me. I have not felt my normal self and just exhausted. I've not been creating at my normal pace. Some days I don't even pick up my scissors. :::::crys:::::
My guess it's 1 of 2 things. The weather is drastically changing to the Cold winter with short day-light hours. I'm thinking this maybe the problem but not sure because some of my best work is done late at night. (?) the second could be that I'm working with Kathryn from Life's a Scrap beach and the 2010 Ultimate mini album kit class in a box. I've spent countless hours on the phone and internet dealing with this and that. (?)
Bottom line I see things have to adjust soon. The album is almost ready to be shipped and I will eventually adjust to the time and weather change.
Happy Warm thoughts! That's my attitude!

Today I want to share a card I made using a La La Craft stamp I received from winning their new release blog candy. I've always adored these stamps but never took that leap to buy any. (hangs my head) It's not that I didn't want to but the budget only stretches so far and I found some New tools that I had to Have. (spellbinders)
Anyway here is my sweet Winter Marci Card!
I used a few of the other items I received in the candy and a few items from my stash!

I hope my Mojo or Energy pick up soon because I Love to create!

Circa 1934 papers!

I've finally cut into my Circa 1934 Cosmo Cricut papers! It's so hard because I only have the one set but I know I will get more. I created this simple card using some of the paper pack I received.

I know I haven't posted much the past week or two and I'm sorry. I've been busy playing with the little girls more as the weather is so nice out. It's not too hot nor too cold. Fall is my favorite season and is probably the season I get the most fresh air.

A final Halloween Card

Hello Friends! Today is once again time for another Sugar Creek Hollow Challenge. I must apologize for only 1 post this week. I feel much better now and hope to get back to my Happy Hobby of playing with my papers and craft tools next week.
My card share today is for the Sugar Creek Hollow Sensational Saturday Challenge. This weeks challenge is use lace or make your own Faux lace on your project. I did try to make my own background with using lace as my mask but it didn't turn out as I hoped. So I in turn used that lace and stitched them into ruffled lace flowers. I also used some scallop crochet lace along my card edge. I used the Fall Bingo card digital and the Halloween Tag images both available at the SCH store. I wish I knew the paper brands but I pulled out of my 6x6 card stash. Majority of that is from swaps so I just use it as it matches my designs.
Please check out the other design team cards as there are so many wonderful creations.

A Christmas Cardinal

Wow I can't believe how fast this month has flown by. Next weekend we will be celebrating the Halloween Festivities I'm so excited and so are my kiddos. Today's card share is for Sensational Saturday with Sugar Creek Hollow and the design team was challenged to use either the Christmas Cardinal or the Primitive Sheep. Both Images are Fabulous. I'm not doing so well getting a head start on my Christmas cards this year. I'm Hoping after this next weekend I will feel more Jolly to create in that theme. Don't forget to check out the cards my design team sisters made over at Sugar Creek Hollow Such Beautiful Creations.

Treat box turned into a Tag Holder

I took the same boxes I made previous post and altered the dimensions slightly to make a thinner box. Instead of being 2" thick I made it 1".
I intend to use this box to hold stamped image tags that I received in the past few months swaps Hosted by Stephanie Miller at With a Grin. Thanks for the fun swaps Stephanie.

I just love the G45 Steampunk papers and finding it so hard to use as I'm notorious for hoarding my favorite papers for fear of not having it when I need it. Stop giggling because if your reading this you suffer from a similar condition. :)

OK I know I'm a little behind on some craft tools but I just got Spellbinder dies. Yes after all this time I finally have invested. But Loving what I can do with them. My lollipop flower is the first of many to come now that I can make in a few minutes verses hand cutting all the circles.
I have a Great fear I will want them all now that I know what I can do with them.

A few treats for my Friends!

I made 2 Treat boxes today to place scrap goodies in and give to some friends. I used the tutorial shown by Julie with Cosmo Cricket.

I had so much fun making this tombstone. I started with black cardstock. Tore my shape and inked the edges with starlite silver Brilliance ink. Stamped my letters using stampin' up Alphabet Antique Upper using the same starlite ink. Stamped the web and embossed in clear. The spider was stamped with the perfect medium and brushed with perfect copper then stamped again in Versamark and embossed in clear. The entire tombstone was then sprayed in Graphite Glimmer mist. I then accented my images and edges with my white and silver gel pens. Added a few red rhinestones for my hourglass on the spider and Viola!

Both these qualify for the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog challenge: anything but a card.

A Quick Card

Don't you just love papers that have images that are easy to cut out and use as your card focus point. G45 Steampunk  Debutante has a whole bunch of them. This card I made in about 5 minutes I'd guess. From in-between tending to the kids and getting items for tonights dinner prepped while surfing the net It was done. I followed the sketch challenge from MMSC#75. This is my favorite blog to visit if I need a card Sketch. The Design team has fabulous inspiration and it's just a great blog.
Hope everyone is having a Fabulous Sunday !

Sugar Creek Hollow Color Challenge

Hope your having a Fabulous Saturday. The challenge this week on Sugar Creek Hollow blog is to create a card or altered project using the colors dark brown, tan, and a bluish green. The design team has some amazing cards to share this week so make sure you check them out.

I recently received some Ella Blue Papers from my best friend Kim and couldn't have been more excited to use them. I layered several of the paper designs that matched my color pallet. I colored my digital image with weathered wood distress ink and accented the snowflake edges with clear glitter glue to give more depth. The scattered snowflakes around the image are just what I could find in my stash. The larger lace trim is from wild orchid crafts and the tiny piece at the bottom was a remnant on my work space that reminded me of icicles so it was perfect. A few white faux stitches and Prima bling and I Loved how it all came together.

The inspiration cleaning your fridge can bring?

Wednesday I had many house chores that needed to be done as we all do. This Thursday I had to clean the fridge, Inside and out. While cleaning the outside I had to remove several family photos that I had happily displayed to remind me of my loved ones. I had several Christmas photos from 2009 that I didn't really need to place back up on display but yet didn't want to toss away. With this challenge my inspiration arose where I needed to create keepsakes (layouts)  for these photos. The layout I share today started with a custom made flower spray I made using floral tape and wild orchid flowers/leaves. I love creating these as I can make them to the size I need for my projects. I can add the adornments to fit my needs and accent my photos! Todays layout is using a 5 1/2 Spray I created myself and utilized the Webster's pages background papers.
